UPDATED: Missing Person

Details: The sheriff’s office dive team located Ryan Johnson in the waters of Lake Agnes this morning around 10 a.m.
The deceased will be transported to the Mid-West Medical Examiner’s Office to conduct further examination. This is standard protocol in a case such as this.
Assisting the Alexandria Police Department throughout the investigation were the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, West Central Minnesota Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, Alexandria Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Technical and Community College law enforcement students, and Life Flight.
We want to thank the public for calling in as you did with all potential leads.
Also, please remember and respect Ryan’s family in this time of sadness for them all.

UPDATE 4-10-17
Details: The Alexandria Police Department is continuing its efforts to locate missing person, Ryan (RJ) Johnson. We want to encourage the public to continue to watch for him in your travels and to please contact us at 320-763-6631, if you think you see him or have seen him. We are diligently following up on all leads and tips received. Assisting in this intense effort are members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the MN BCA, and students from the Alexandria Technical College Law Enforcement program.
We are developing a time line and verifying his last known locations. Teams of searchers have been going out every 2 hours along the shorelines of Lakes Agnes and Henry since 10 am this morning. They will continue throughout the day and the last group is set to begin at 8pm. The Dive Team has also been on the water again utilizing sonar.
We are committed to doing everything in our ability to bring Ryan home. We want to thank everyone who has come forward so far with information and all those who we can see are also out there looking for him. We appreciate your efforts.


UPDATE 4-9-17
Details: On 4-9-17, the Alexandria Police Department along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota DNR conducted water searches on Lake Agnes and Lake Henry looking for Ryan Johnson. There is evidence he may have entered the water. The water search efforts stopped on 4/9/17 at 6:30 p.m. and we will resume today, 4-10-17, pending weather conditions. Our investigation continues and are seeking any information of Ryan’s whereabouts from Thursday April 6, 2017, until present. We still ask the public to please contact the Alexandria Police Department at 320-763-6631 with any information.
Details: The Alexandria Police Department is seeking the public's help on any information they may have on the whereabouts of Ryan Johnson. Johnson's family reported last night that they have not seen or heard from him since Thursday, April 6th. Ryan was last seen by a friend at a local bar Thursday evening. The Alexandria Police Department along with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office is actively looking for him. Please call 320-763-6631 with any information you have.
