Sauk Centre police discovered $14,000 worth of methamphetamine after a routine traffic stop Thursday night in Sauk Centre.
The incident occurred at 10:02 p.m. when an officer made a stop for an equipment violation. After observing criminal indicators, the department’s K-9 unit, Sonny, was deployed. According to the police department, Sonny alerted to the odor of drugs outside of the car and then in the purse of the female passenger. In searching the purse, the officer discovered 114 grams of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $14,000.
The driver, Lance Wayne Anderson, 49, and the passenger, 44-year-old Jennifer Elizabeth Stiles, both of Neshau, Minn., were both arrested and brought to Stearns County Jail on 1st degree controlled substance charges. The vehicle was also forfeited.
