ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Motorists on Highway 71 between Sauk Centre and Belgrade will encounter delays as segments of the road are reduced to a single lane beginning Monday, May 2.
The closures will occur from sunrise to sunset, Mondays through Saturdays, through late-July. No closures will occur through the city of Elrosa.
Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic through the daily work zone. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop as they approach each work zone, and obey flaggers and use caution as they follow the pilot car through the daily work zone.
The lane closures are needed while crews resurface the roadway, replace an existing culvert and install turn lanes.
When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, extended the life of the road and improve safety and drainage.
