Barbara Lindemann

Barbara Lindemann
Barbara Lindemann, age 75 of Waconia, formerly of Osakis, died on Friday, Aug. 26 in Waconia.
On Sept. 30, 1940, twins were born to Ralph and Eleanor (Kjellander) Gray in Minneapolis. They named their daughter, Barbara. The family moved to Osakis and Barb graduated from Osakis High School in 1958. She attended the Minneapolis School of Business for training to became a legal secretary and administrative assistant. She married Vernon Lindemann on Aug. 11, 1962. Barbara and Vern then moved to Mound, where their son, Scott, was born. During her career, Barbara worked as a legal secretary and administrative assistant.

Gerald “Jerry” Meier

Gerald “Jerry” Meier
Gerald J. Meier, 68 of Sauk Centre, died peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 25 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Patton-Schad Funeral Home and on Friday, Aug. 26, from 9–10 a.m. at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
Gerald “Jerry” Meier was born in Elysian on Feb. 3, 1948. He was the oldest child of Clarence and Lorraine (Sieben) Meier. His mother proudly wrote “Dad got his little fisherman.” His family lived in Mankato, Glenwood and on a turkey farm. His best childhood memories were living near Fairy Lake in Sauk Centre.

Mass of Christian Burial for Steven Kane, 65, of Marshall, was at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Marshall. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. with a CCW Rosary at 4 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall.

Lars Anderson

Lars Anderson
Lars Anderson, 87, of Belgrade, died on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. His funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Crow River Lutheran Church in rural Belgrade. Burial was in the church cemetery. A visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade and continued one hour prior to the service at the church. www.hafh.org
Lars Anderson was born on Feb. 26, 1929, on the family farm in rural Hawick, the son of Leonard and Barbara (Tjernagel) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Nordland Lutheran Church in rural Hawick. Lars grew up on the family farm where he attended a country school completing the 8th grade. In 1952, he entered the United States Army. He served his country in Heidelberg, Germany, until 1954, when he earned his honorable discharge.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 25, from 4 - 8 p.m. at Patton-Schad Funeral Home and continues on Friday, Aug. 26 from 9 – 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay (Merten) Meier; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Cory Sabrowsky of Sartell; son, Jeremy and his girlfriend, Heidi of Duluth; grandchildren, Kenna, age 9, Keaton, age 6, and Cannon, age 3; sister, Kathy Salaymeh; and brothers, Gary Meier and Jeff Meier; other relatives and friends.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father and mother, Clarence and Lorraine (Sieben) Meier and his in-laws, Virgil and Marie Merten.

Viola M. Bromen, age 89 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Fairway Pines in Sauk Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating and Rev. Richard Gans, Rev. Thomas Myboya, and Rev. Andrew Marthaler concelebrating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.

Frances C. Borgerding

Frances C. Borgerding, age 91 of Freeport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016, at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Goldenaires Senior Citizens and Christian Mothers will prayed at 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
Frances Catherine Kometscher was born Sept. 4, 1924, in Indianola, Neb. to Henry and Catherine (Kuppenbender) Kometscher. She was united in marriage to Alphonse Borgerding on Aug. 25, 1948, in Indianola. The couple came back to the family dairy farm west of Freeport and farmed until 1972. They moved into Freeport shortly after their retirement. For the past three years, Frances resided at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.

Rev. Ronald William Mahnke, age 75, St. Cloud, died Monday, July 18, 2016, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross
Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. Visitation was Friday, July 22, 2016, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home Chapel. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Sauk Centre. Funeral arrangements were made by Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Ronald was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Carroll, Iowa to William H. and
Luella (Anton) Mahnke. After graduating high school Ron attended St. Paul’s Jr. College at Concordia, Mo., Concordia Senior College at Ft. Wayne, Ind.and Concordia, Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo., where he received a Master of Divinity Degree in 1968.

Tom L. Schwieters

Tom L. Schwieters, age 67 of Melrose, died unexpectedly on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at his home, after a ten year battle with Parkinson’s disease.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Greenwald with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating and Rev. Mitchell Bechtold and Rev. Daniel Ohmann concelebrating. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers were at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Roger F. Meyer of Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away peacefully on July 9, 2016, on Hilton Head Island, SC., at the age of 80.
