Ruth E. Stenzel, age 88 of Sauk Centre died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Dec. 19, at First Lutheran Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.

Junkin
Walter “Walt” Junkin, age 82 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2015, following a long battle with heart and kidney failure at the CentraCare Health Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. A family entombment service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, N.D.
Walter Edward Junkin was born on Aug. 31, 1933, to Floyd Junkin and Adeline Junkin (nee Howley). He spent his entire childhood in Fargo. During his adolescence, Walter developed a passion for photography and music. His first professional photograph was taken in 9th grade. He also developed into a fine jazz trumpet player, touring with the Bob Calamese band, out of Nebraska, at age 17. He also achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts.

Charles C. Stalberger, 71 of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 1, 2015. A funeral Mass was held Dec. 5 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 Cty Rd. 24, Medina.
Charles C. Stalberger was born April 8, 1944, in Belgrade, to parents Edwin and Laura Scholz Stalberger. He attended schools in Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1962. He worked with his father and eventually owned Stalberger Electric. He married Geraldine Nyberg on Dec. 10, 1982, in Maple Grove. They resided in Plymouth, where he worked at Budget Power and at Morrie’s Ford.
Charles is survived by his loving family: wife Gerri and daughter Janine (Karl) of Plymouth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law Ken and Joyce Nyberg of Buffalo; Jeanette and Steve Kenney, Loretto; Marlene and Rick Thomas of Buffalo.
He was preceded in death by parents Edwin and Laura Stalberger and brother and sister-in-law Roger and Kathy Stalberger.

Leah M. Becker

Leah M. Becker
Leah M. Becker, age 79 of Sauk Centre, passed peacefully from this world to be with our Lord on Dec. 2, 2015. From her birth and until her last breath she nourished people around her with love, faith and music. (And a few tomatoes, squash and raspberries from her abundant gardens.) She was the last of seven children born to Albert and Stella Sauter in Tyler, N.D. on April 19, 1936. Her childhood years were spent in Fairmount, N.D. After marrying Andrew Becker in 1957, the couple lived in Albertville, where their six children were born.
In 1971, the family moved to a dairy farm in Sauk Centre, and they lived in the community until the spring of 2014. They have been living in Burnsville, since 2014, in order to be closer to their children.

Margaret K. Berscheit of Sauk Centre passed away Dec. 2, 2015, at the age of 95.
Margaret was preceded in death by husband, Raymond; six brothers and one sister.
Survived by children: Susan (Larry) Sell, Sarah Berscheit, Stan (Deb) Berscheit, Shirley (Brad) Nelson and Sally Berscheit; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Marian; other loving family and friends.
Mass of Christian burial was held Dec. 7 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Interment was held Dec. 8 at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Arrangements were by Billman Hunt Funeral Chapel.

Euni Dockter
Euni Dockter, 69 of Bismarck, N.D., formerly of Mercer, passed away at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck on Nov. 24. A funeral service was held Nov. 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, N.D., with Pastor Sondra Krogstad officiating.
Eunice Faye was born Oct. 4, 1946, to Oliver and Elnora (Nissen) Kirking in Drayton, N.D. She attended Glasston Elementary School and graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1964. While in school, Euni was very involved in all school activities, especially cheerleading. Following high school she attended the Minneapolis Institute of Medical Technology, graduating as a medical lab technician. She worked at the Grafton Hospital and later at Deaconess Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.

Jonas, 88, of St. Anna, who died Monday at Assumption Home, Cold Spring. Rev. David Grundman and Rev. Eberhard Scheffers concelebrated and burial was in the parish cemetery.

Leonard B. Ritter
Leonard B. Ritter, age 83 of Grey Eagle, died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at the CentraCare Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
A gathering was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. A private family inurnment will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Ward Springs.
Leonard Bernard Ritter was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Birchdale Township, Todd County, to Paul and Rose (Minette) Ritter. He completed school until the 8th grade at Ward Springs Country School. On Feb. 5, 1964, he married RoseMary Louise (Erpelding) at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins. The couple raised their eight children on the farm before separating years later. Leonard farmed and was employed at Fingerhut in St. Cloud for many years. Leonard enjoyed spending time outdoors, being with his family and talking smart at the cabin.
