Man traveling 111 mph arrested for felony DWI

A Sauk Centre man was arrested for felony DWI at approximately 12:20 Thursday morning after being stopped for going 111 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone.
Wade Richard Holck, 30, was arrested after failing a field sobriety test and booked into Stearns County Jail. The case has been forwarded to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Holck was traveling at the high rate of speed on Highway 71 and County Road 187 south of Sauk Centre when he was pulled over by a Stearns County deputy. Standard field sobriety tests were conducted and Holck was subsequently placed under arrest. A review of his previous history resulted in the DWI charge being a felony. He was also charged with driving after cancellation.

Alexandria man arrested near Sauk Centre

Joshua James Baumann, a 22-year-old from Alexandria, was arrested by the Sauk Centre Police Department on the evening of Oct. 13 on I-94 near mile marker 126.
Police pulled over Baumann for an equipment violation, and quickly noticed criminal signs. K9 Sonny detected narcotics in the vehicle, leading officers to find a loaded handgun magazine, rounds of ammunition and marijuana. Methamphetamines and a loaded handgun were also found on the suspect. The handgun had been reported stolen from Sauk Centre earlier this month.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested on three felony charges – felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and fifth degree controlled substance.
Baumann is currently booked at the Stearns County Jail awaiting a court hearing.

111 mph not fast enough for drunk driver

On Saturday, Aug. 8 at approximately 9 p.m., an SCPD officer was traveling west bound on I-94 at mile marker 127 (Sauk Centre exit) when he observed a dark-colored SUV traveling east bound on I-94 at a high rate of speed. The officer got a radar reading on this SUV at 111 mph in a 70-mph speed zone. The officer got behind the vehicle, activated his emergency red lights and the vehicle eventually pulled over on the Freeport off ramp. 

The officer made contact with the driver and could immediately see that he was highly impaired from alcohol.
