Adversity rears its head in North Stars loss

There was a lot to like from the performance of the Prairie Centre North Stars boys hockey team against the Willmar Cardinals Dec. 12.

All night long, it felt like the Sauk Centre Streeters boys basketball were digging themselves into a deeper and deeper hole Dec. 12. 

The Prairie Centre Blue Devils girls hockey team fell to 1-5 on the young season Dec. 12, dropping a Mid-State Conference matchup to the Northern Lakes Lightning by a score of 7-2 at Todd County Expo Arena in Long Prairie. No other game information was made available before press time.

Defenders girls grab trophy at home invite

With good numbers and solid early conditioning, the Sauk Centre-Melrose Defenders are looking ahead to a strong 2023-24 campaign. The season started off with the girls team earning second out of 23 teams at the Defenders Invite Dec. 1 at Melrose Area High School in Melrose. The boys team finished 10th out of 13 squads.

Swimming forward with depth, experience

The Melrose/Sauk Centre Fusion boys swimming and diving team will once again be a team that cannot be overlooked to win pool battles.

The Sauk Centre Streeters boys basketball team entered the 2023-24 winter season with a strong sense of belief not only in their own abilities as players on the court, but versatile, fluid members of a well-rounded, ever-adapting squad.
