Eleanor Marie Neubert, age 82, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully Sept. 3, 2024, in St. Cloud. Born Feb. 28, 1942, in Faribault, Eleanor was the daughter of Walter and Esther (Bauer) Schlobohm. She grew up in a loving and large family.
Eleanor graduated from Faribault High School and earned her teaching degree from Mankato State University. She taught in both Waldorf and Anchorage, Alaska. On June 27, 1964, she married the love of her life, Fred Neubert, with whom she shared 53 years filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.
In 1975, Eleanor and Fred purchased the Sauk Centre Dairy Queen, where they served their community with joy and dedication. At the Dairy Queen, Eleanor worked side by side with many friends. She had fond memories of the many teens in the community she was able to influence, teaching the value of hard work, teamwork, and maintaining a smile — all while sharing many laughs over the years. Later in life, she used her gifts of caring and hospitality while working at Bethany on the Lake Assisted Living in Alexandria.
Outside of work, Eleanor found great joy in raising her family, serving at Faith Baptist Church, hosting pastors and missionary families, and spending time with grandchildren. She demonstrated her love for her Savior by opening her home to many for weeks, months and even years.
Eleanor is survived by her brother, Duane (Diane) Schlobohm; her children, Tim (Krista) Neubert, Nancy (Jim) Luteran, Tanya (Scott) Imdieke, Aaron (Jessica) Neubert and Matt (Tiffany) Neubert; as well as her 25 cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Neubert; her brother, Donald Schlobohm; four sisters, Arlene Ciffra, Lorraine Dostal, Valeria Harris and Evelyn Benson; and her son-in-law, Phil Cruz.
A memorial service and visitation was Sept. 7 at Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre.
She was laid to rest next to her husband following the memorial service at Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Eleanor made many donations to Bibles International to further the spread of the gospel throughout the world; please consider a donation in her memory in lieu of flowers.
Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
