AMENDING SAUK CENTRE CITY CODE 

SECTION  73 WINTER PARKING SCHEDULES AND RESTRICTIONS

BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAUK CENTRE:

Section One:  Chapter §73 shall be renamed WINTER PARKING

Section Two:  Schedule I. to be renamed Schedule II SNOW EMERGENCIES

Section Three:   New Schedule I – RESTRICTED WINTER PARKING shall be added to table of contents. 

Section Four:  New Schedule I shall be added as follows:

SCHEDULE I:  RESTRICTED WINTER PARKING

(a) All persons parking vehicles on the streets or highways of the city must park vehicles according to the following system from December 1st through March 31st of each winter season. 

(b) Persons must not park vehicles between 12:00 midnight and 7:00 a.m. on all streets except those designated as the congested district whereby parking is restricted year-round from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

(c) The City reserves the right to waive the above requirements during the Holiday season from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day.

(d) Penalty. Vehicles parked contrary to this section may be ticketed and towed under the guidelines in Minnesota Statute 168B.035. 

(e) Recovery of stored vehicles. Before the owner or his agent is permitted to remove a vehicle from the place of storage, the owner must: a. Furnish satisfactory evidence to the person in charge of the storage area of his identity and ownership of the vehicle; b. Pay any storage charge to the person in charge of the storage area for the towing and storage of the vehicle; and c. Provide a valid driver’s license or permission for another licensed driver to drive the vehicle from the storage area.

Section Five:  Effective Date: This Ordinance shall become effective December 1, 2022 and after due passage and enactment and publication according to law.

The foregoing Ordinance was duly passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Sauk Centre, Minnesota at its regular meeting on the 2nd day of February, 2022.

Notice of Application for a Livestock Feedlot Permit

Notice is hereby given per Minnesota Statues, Sec 116, that Kenneth W. & Pamela G. Zehrer Trustees, dba Bill Zehrer, has made application to the County of Todd for a permit to construct or expand an existing feedlot with a capacity of more than 500 Animal Units (AU).  The existing feedlot is located in the NW qtr. 1/4 Section 29, Birchdale Township, Todd County, MN.  The existing facility consists of 928 head (649.6 Animal Units) of dairy heifers and 2 head (.4 Animal Units) of dairy calves for a total of 650 AU. The existing facility consists of partial confinement barns, open dirt lots with runoff controls, and two earthen liquid storage basins.  In the proposal, manure will be stored as a pack in the open lots with runoff controls and in clay lined earthen manure pits.  The final capacity will be 999 head of various types of stock cattle (999 animal units).  This publication shall constitute as notice to each resident and each owner of real property within 5,000 feet of the perimeter of the feedlot as required by Minnesota State Law.

Notice is hereby given that the Stearns County Planning Commission, in and for the County of Stearns, will conduct certain public hearings as follows: 

To consider a rezoning request submitted by Todd and Marcy Welberg, Sauk Centre MN according to Section 4.10 of Stearns County Land Use and Zoning Ordinance #439 to rezone approximately 5.0 acres from the Agricultural 40 (A-40) zoning district to the Commercial zoning district.
