Keith Sorenson, 82, of Sauk Centre, originally from St. Paul, passed away peacefully at home April 2, 2024, surrounded by family, after a massive heart attack.

A Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. May 18 at Sauk Centre United Methodist Church in Sauk Centre.

Keith was married to Gretchen Oct. 10, 1981. They retired to Sauk Centre in 1991, where they built their retirement home on Sauk Lake. As a young man, Keith served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier Hancock from 1959-1963. After moving to Sauk Centre, Keith started working at the ice arena when it opened. He was there for more than 20 years, driving the “Zamboni.” He also was involved in church where Gretchen and he spearheaded the Christmas stocking project, Alcoholics Anonymous where he celebrated 48 years of sobriety, Residents Encounter Christ (Jail Ministry) from 1993 to present, feeding and enjoying the birds, being able to water the yard and gardens from the lake, his vegetable garden and sharing the produce, and creating a beautiful, peaceful yard, which he was very proud of.

Survivors include his wife Gretchen; his children Michelle Bramel (Dave), Aaron (Missy) and Eric (Peggy); stepchildren Shelley Koren (Bob), Lydia Antoniades and Maureen Pettis (Mark); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Brian (Kathy); and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Chaput and Joan Greising and his parents Harold and Hazel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you pay it forward with kindness to those around you in memory of Keith.

Keith decided to donate his body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program.
