Dorothy O. Lindemann, age 91, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family Dec. 9, 2024, at Cura of Sauk Centre care center in Sauk Centre.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, at the River of Life Church in Sauk Centre with the Rev. Kyle Peterson officiating. *Please note service date.* A private family inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sauk Centre.
Visitation will be 2:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Dorothy Olive Watkins was born Dec. 1, 1933, in Litchfield Township, Meeker County, to Emerald and Mabel (Ray) Watkins. She married Norbert Lindemann April 30, 1955 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield. The couple farmed near Sauk Centre in Ashley Township, Stearns County. Dorothy learned to be a farm wife, pitching in to do almost everything. She picked rocks, helped feed the calves, and did extra chores on the farm, including driving tractor. The only thing she decided not to learn was milking the cows! In 1992, they helped their daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Rick Cline, take over the family farm.
Dorothy enjoyed taking road trips with her family, square dancing with Norbert, taking an occasional trip to the casino, traveling to locations across the country, and tending to her large gardens and canning the fruits of her labor.
Survivors include her two children, Cheryl (Rick) Cline of Sauk Centre and Duane Lindemann (significant other, Karen Jennissen) of Carlos; three grandchildren, Jim, Jake, and Jessica Cline; and brother, Alvin Watkins of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert Lindemann on April 20, 2017; parents; brothers, Ray, Harold, Marvin, Donald and Maynard Watkins; and sister, Evelyn Reinke.
A special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cura of Sauk Centre care center and CentraCare Hospice for the wonderful care of our mother.
